Shortlists of China HTML5 Game Programming Contest:
1.    SavePAPA: it’s a very good HTML5 puzzle game using Box2D JS to achieve physical collision effect. It mainly leverages HTML5 Canvas. The developer got success from their Flash game development experience. And they had improve the source code of Box2D to optimize the performance. They win the first prize in the end.

2.    Happy Ghost Wars: it’s a HTML5 Adventure Game and mainly leverages Canvas, Audio and Local Storage. Two members finished this game in two week during their spare time. They designed this game for they both like Happy Ghost serial movies. They are planning to develop a social version of this game and will publish it to Facebook and Renren.com.

3.    The rabbit’s travel: it’s a HTML5 Adventure Game and mainly leverages Canvas, Audio and Motion control. 8 members finished this game in 20 hours and it runs well in iOS, Android and Desktop browsers.

4.    3D Bomb Man: it’s a HTML5 3D Action Game and mainly leverages WebGL, Audio and Local Storage. The author finished this game with the JS3D engine which developed by himself and the performance is good in desktop browsers.

5.    Shooter: it’s a HTML5 Shooting Game and mainly leverages HTML5 Canvas. The developer is a college student and finished this game during his spare time. There are spectacular special effects in this game.

During the conference, He Huang, CEO of Leiyoo, announced their first MMOSLG game "Twilight Empire", which can be run on WinPhone, iOS and Android. One of their frontend architects, Guo Zhao, shared the design of their game framework (Core + Plugins + UI libraries + map/animation/level editors) and technical issues (screen resolution, traffic control) in implementation. This framework mainly leverages Canvas, Manifest (Off-line Storage), WebSocket and CSS3.

Guangyu Qi, who comes from Microsoft IE9 product team, introduced the features in Win8 and HTML5 support in IE9. He showed a live demo about the excellent support for large numbers of sound tracks in IE9, compared with the poor performance in Chrome and Firefox.

QuarkJS, one open source game framework from SNDA, was presented by the lead contributor Zhenglin Li from SNDA game research lab. This framework takes Flash display list architecture as a reference and supports both DOM and Canvas renderings. He showed how to make a game called "Fishing" within three days. It is worth mentioning that Happy Dolphin, which is the winner in China HTML5 Code Jam, is also made by this framework.

Yong Liu, who comes from Rekoo, introduced situation and opportunity in Japan HTML5 game market. Rekoo, which is the leader in Japan Social Game Market, has 3 games in Top5 list in MIXI.com. Yong introduced the differences between Japan game market and US/Europe markets, and shared the best practice and challenge. He said that Rekoo will continuously invest in HTML5 technology because of it’s advantage.

Mark Dong, Evangelist from Adobe, introduced PhoneGap and give answers to 12 questions for this product. He presented the orientation of Adobe in HTML5 domain and demoed some best practice that how to package your app, develop plugins and use API of PhoneGap. Also he introduced the cloud service of Adobe: PhoneGap Build.

Cheng Xu, CEO of Sina Weibo Games, introduced Sina Weibo Games and analyzed the advantages/disadvantages between HTML5 applications and Native applications. He said that Sina will continuously invest in HTML5 and will create a ecosystem and entrance for HTML5 applications.

首届中国HTML5原创游戏大赛入围作品演示:
1. 拯救PaPa:HTML5益智类关卡游戏,采用Box2D的JS版本实现物理碰撞效果,主要用到了HTML5中的Canvas技术。团队成员以前从事Flash小游戏开发,他们将开发Flash游戏的经验沿用到了HTML5游戏中并取得了成功。他们对于Box2D的源代码做了优化以改善游戏性能。
2. 开心鬼大作战:HTML5冒险类关卡游戏,主要采用了HTML5中的Canvas,Audio,Local Storage技术。团队成员只有两人,完全利用业余时间用两周开发完成。出于对开心鬼系列电影的喜爱,他们制作了以此为主角的游戏。他们有制作HTML5社交游戏的后续计划:开心鬼之前世今生,并打算发布到Facebook和人人网平台上。
3. 兔子的旅行:HTML5冒险类关卡游戏,主要利用了HTML5中的体感控制,Canvas,Audio技术。这个游戏是一个8人团队用20小时开发完成,目前支持在iOS平台,Android平台和桌面浏览器同时运行。
4. 3D炸弹人:HTML5三维动作类关卡游戏,作者利用自己设计的JS3D游戏引擎开发完成,主要采用了HTML5中的WebGL,LocalStorage,Audio技术。
5. 射击游戏:HTML5射击类关卡游戏,作者是一个大三的学生,利用业余时间制作完成,主要采用了HTML5的Canvas技术。游戏展示了HTML5所能表现的炫目的特效。

来自热酷游戏的刘勇介绍了日本HTML5游戏市场的现状与机会。热酷游戏在日本市场打败了Zynga,有三款游戏位于日本社交网站MIXI前五名,取得了巨大的成功。他介绍了日本市场与欧美市场的差异并分享了热酷的成功经验和目前所面对的挑战。他表示热酷已经积累了很多HTML5游戏开发的经验并将持续投入下去,因为HTML5游戏在日本用户热衷的卡片对战和农场类游戏上拥有得天独厚的优势:产品开发快速,产品加载快速。

来自Adobe中国研发中心的传教士董龙飞介绍了HTML5打包工具PhoneGap。他详细解答了关于Phonegap的12个问题并介绍了Adobe公司在HTML5上的发展方向。他现场演示了如何采用PhoneGap打包各个平台的应用,开发PhoneGap插件,调用PhoneGap本地API,还有Adobe的PhoneGap Build云服务。

来自新浪微游戏的CEO徐城作为HTML5游戏签约渠道代表演讲。他分析了HTML5应用与本地应用的差异和优缺点,并表示新浪微游戏将持续投入并发展为未来HTML5应用的入口,打造一个良好的生态环境。

磊友CEO黄何宣布了其第一款HTML5移动多人在线策略游戏-黎明帝国。可运行在WinPhone, iOS, Android,可供20000人同时在线玩。另外两个工作组正在研发一系列休闲和奇幻冒险类游戏。其前端架构师介绍了自主研发的游戏框架(核心API+Plugins+UI库+地图、关卡、动画等编辑器)的设计和实际开发过程中遇到了技术难题。该框架主要用到了HTML5的Canvas,离线存储,WebSocket和CSS3。

来自Microsoft IE9产品组的亓光宇介绍了Win8的特性及IE9对HTML5的支持。实际举例说明了IE9对音轨数量大时的完美支持,而相比之下Chrome和Firefox的性能表现比较差。

来自上海盛大游戏研究院的李正林介绍了其领导的开源HTML5游戏框架QuarkJS。该框架类借鉴了Flash的DisplayList架构,分为QuarkJS Base(alpha)和QuarkJS Game(还在开发中)两部分。同时支持DOM和Canvas渲染。并实例举了捕鱼应用的制作过程,共花了3天,显示了极高的生产效率。HTML5 Code Jam的获奖作品快乐海豚就是基于该框架完成的。
